Direct Entry (D.E.)

a Candidates who fulfill the Prelimnary admission requirements in above and who have obtained General Certificate of Education (GCE), Advanced Level; Higher School Certificate (HSC)/Interim Joint Matriculation Board (IJMB) or other approved equivalent in two relevant subjects to a particular programme, at a sitting, may be admitted into the year two

  1. A minimum qualification of a diploma in banking & finance, accounting and other management related qualifications from the school or other recognized institutions across the country.
  2. Full or Intermediate Professional examinations Pass in accounting and banking & finance with local and recognized international professional examination bodies
  3. Foreign qualification will be assessed on their merits and credits by the Board
  4. A good command of English language. Presently, all teachings will be in English, a good knowledge of this language is essential
  5. A pass in the entry examination, which forms the crust of the selection to the programme
  6. Also, minimum class population admission will also form part of other secondary selection criteria

Federal government economists collect and analyze data about the economy, including employment, prices, productivity, and wages, among other types of data. They also project spending needs and inform policymakers on the economic impact of laws and regulations. Economists working for corporations help managers and decisionmakers understand how the economy will affect their business. Specifically, economists may analyze issues such as consumer demand and sales to help a company maximize its profits and also work for international organizations, research firms, and think tanks, where they study and analyze a variety of economic issues. Their analyses and forecasts are frequently published in newspapers and journals.

(a) Candidates must have obtained credits at not more than two
sittings in five subjects at the ‘0’ Level/Senior Secondary Certificate or Credit/Merit level passes in Teachers Grade II Examinations. Such credits/merits in list include English Language and Mathematics.

(ii)  Direct Entry  (Three Year Programme)

In addition to the requirements stated in (a) above

  • Candidates must have passed at least two social science subjects in the H.S.C. or C.E. A’ Level including Geography or OND in Geography. Town Planning or related subject acceptable to the Department.

OR

(b) N.C.E. with Distinction or credit or merit in Geography and any other social science subjects.

(c) University Diploma in Transport Planning and Management and other University Diploma acceptable to the Department.
